Italian Flavor Forum XI – June 22, 2009

The 11th Italian Flavor Forum brings along three new initiatives: a competition among barristas, one desk dedicated to importers, and the organization of seminars.
First of all, there's the competition entitled 'Create-a-Grappa-Cocktail Challenge', in which seven San Francisco Bay bartenders / mixologists will face off to create a new grappa-based cocktail and featuring other liquos and liqueurs produced in Friuli by the Cantina e Distilleria Mangilli S.p.A.. In addition to a certificate, the winner will take home one bottle each of the 11 spirits and seven wines presented by Mangilli at the event.
The second initiative is a desk dedicated to importers, featuring new products seeking importers in the US. Basically, the Italian Flavor Forum series is expanding its reach in proposing quality wine and foods from Italy. Thus, in addition to other products already imported and distributed in California by WineCountry.IT, L.L.C., the event introduces products available to other importers as well.
We are still working on the details of the third initiative, however we can announce that during the event, in the library of the Museo Italo Americano, two or three interesting seminars will take place. Titles and speakers will be announced soon.
At the Museo ItaloAmericano in Building C of the Fort Mason Center, 99 Marina Blvd., in San Francisco, California. The event takes place concurrently with the exhibition entitled "For the Pleasure of One's Soul: The Art of Frances Galli", featuring paintings which took inspiration from the 25 summers spent in Tuscany by the artist and capture her lifelong pursuit of capturing the spirit of women.
Located right inside the City's Marina, the location is very easy to reach and has abundant free parking. (See map with directions).

The Italian Flavor Forum staff and Italian wine producers bring quality Italian wines and regional specialties to San Francisco Bay Area importers, distributors, retailers, restaurant buyers, wine bars, wine collectors, trade writers and journalists to taste, evaluate and purchase.

If we don't trust the quality of the products ourselves, we don't bring them over.
