National Women's Wine Competition 2008

Back in April, we participated in the 2008 National Women's Wine Competition, held in Santa Rosa, that is, in the hearth of California wine country, with 12 wines produced by estates associated with our Italian Flavor Consortium. Whereas last year the wines where exclusively US-produced, this year the competition opened to international wines as well, and five of the wine that we presented were awarded medals by the 36-judge panel, composed exclusively of wine expert women.

The medal have finally been delivered and the Italian Flavor Consortium associate who won are:

  Award: Silver Medal
  
• Wine:   Gavi DOCG Fornaci
  Estate: Castellari Bergaglio – Piedmont
  Award: Silver Medal
• Wine:   Cannonau di Sardegna DOC La Marina
  Estate: Romangia Soc. Coop. – Sardinia
  Award: Bronze Medal
  
• Wine:   Monteregio di Massa Marittima DOC Thesan
  Estate: Fattorie Coliberto – Tuscany
  Award: Bronze Medal
