Native White Vines
(The letters and numbers identify the selected clone)

Grechetto G 5 ICA PG
Compact, cylindrical, short medium-small bunch with medium-small grapes, yellow colored skin of medium thickness. Characterized by good strength, fertility and production. Ripens relatively early, it's resistant to drought, versatile and of high quality. The wine is alcoholic, with strong ripe fruit flavor, good acidity, sapid, with long, structured finish. When used in blends, adds perfume, flavor and structure to the wines.

Trebbiano Toscano Biotipo Procanico T 34 ICA PG
Pyramidal, medium-large bunch with small wings and medium round grapes with golden yellow skin. This specific clone is strong, highly productive, fertile even at the base of the branch, survives drought well and is of good quality. The wine is characterized by slight fruit, high alcohol content and sapidity, with consistent structure, good acidity, fine, and resistant to oxidation. It's good in blends.

Verdello V 27 ICA PG
Pyramidal, medium-large bunch with small, closed wings and medium round grapes with yellow-green thin skin. The clone is strong and gives good, consistent production, has low fertility, is highly sensitive to lack of water and has discrete quality. The wine is not particularly perfumed and has a slightly bitter taste, is randomly persistent, with high acidity and weak body. It's mostly used in blends.

Grechetto G 109 ISV-ICA PG
Medium-sized, medium-short pyramidal bunch with two short wings, medium-small, round grape with consistent skin. In addition to good productivity, the clone is characterized by fairly good quality with good sugar content, which generates low acidity, especially with high temperatures and low rainfall. The wine presents good structure and high quality perfume.

Trebbiano Spoletino 1 ISV-ICA PG
Cylindrical, medium-large bunch with short wings. The grapes are round, with green colored skin which turns to pinky amber when exposed to sunlight. Good productivity and strength. Could accumulate high sugar content, thus generating low acidity. The wines produced are fresh and hold their color stablility over time. Perfume of fruits and lively acidity which blends well with the overall structure.

Native Red Vines

It's the king of Umbrian native red vines and the wines produced with its grapes can stand up to the noble reds from Piedmont and Tuscany.

There are different theories about its origin. Some believe that the original vine was planted in the Montefalco area by Franciscan monks Muslim invaders in the Middle Ages. The production area includes the municipalities of Montefalco, Bevagna, Gualdo Cattaneo, Castel Ritaldi e Giano dell’Umbria, all of which are in the province of Perugia. The wine is dry, with intense ruby red color, at times with purple nuances tending toward garnet when aged. The characteristic perfume is reminiscent of blackberries. Dry to the palate.

Gamay 1 ISV-ICA PG
Trunk-cone bunch of medium size with short wings. The grapes are round, with consistent, though not to thick skin. The color is uniformly blue-black, the juice of the ripen grapes is pink. Good productivity, but not overproductives, with good quality characteristics. The wine has good alcohol and polyphenol content. Pleasant fruity perfume reminiscent of wild berries, long persistence in the mouth. The wines may undergo medium ageing.
